Kathy attended high school in Canada at Waterloo Collegiate Institute after moving to Canada from Great Britain at age 11.  After winning four Canadian Junior championships on the track and cross country she took a scholarship to the University of Wisconsin.  While at Wisconsin she won 5 NCAA individual titles and contributed to many team Big Ten team titles.  After graduating she became a professional athlete and volunteer assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin.  Prior to coaching at Nederland High school she spent three years as a volunteer coach at Stanford University.  Kathy continues to compete professionally and has been to two Olympics.
